~I'm one step closer to ruling the world~

Oh yeah, that's right! Along with my annual increase here at work, I also received a promotion. Yay for me!!! Now I'm no longer a Teller I but a Teller II. True, yes, there are many, many, many more steps to take before I get to the world domination part, but I am closer. So I am very happy today and will be even happier when I get to see the difference in my paycheck. This comes at a time when I need it, considering I have an extra bill (my car) to pay. But I'm not complaining, I just love my new car!

Me no like the vet

This past week Chloe has been limping a bit, but only after she's been laying down a while is when she starts this. After a couple minutes, she's usually walking fine though. I gave it a few days to see if it'd just go away, but it hadn't. We got back from the vet this morning (Chloe hates the vet, she always is so nervous that she shakes uncontrollably), and everything went well. They checked her out, and it seems she definitely has an injury to her right shoulder. I'm really not too sure what the cause is, although I have a few ideas of what it could be. My first guess it that it's Maya (they play a little too rough at times), second, Chloe misjudges the jump onto the futon and has hit the metal bar a couple of times, and there was a time last week when Arthur was running outside with her in his arms and he went to put her down mid-jog and she stumbled. Either way, she's hurt now; luckily, she doesn't seem to be feeling any pain, or she just hides it really well. The doc prescribed some anti-inflammatory medication for her that should resolve this issue along with some rest. That means no more jumping on or off couches and beds and keeping her separated from Maya to avoid any more stress to her injury. If in a week she hasn't improved, we'll have to get x-rays. I sure hope we don't have to. I hope my little girl gets better real soon.

The Dove Release

You have just made it through your wedding ceremony and step out onto the church steps. The photographer raises his camera.
Following your family tradition, both of you hold white doves which you will release together. You and your new husband stand shoulder to shoulder with a dove in your hands as your friends and relatives eagerly wait.
The photographer gives the ready signal and you open your hands toward the sky.
Not a dry eye in the house, the camera flashes; the moment is saved for eternity....

Wedding Gown $2,500
Photographer $2,000
Having "the twins" pop out and say CHEESE in front of your family and friends...
PRICELESS!!!!!

This poor girl, I feel so bad for her. How embarassing this must have been, but yet I laughed so freakin' hard when I saw this. I'm still laughing. That'll teach her to go strapless...ha ha

The Awesome Camel Spider!!!

Okay, so today my co-worker, Rodney, and I were talking about weird looking creatures and such after an e-mail he'd received about this funny looking mole rat. Then he asked if I'd ever seen the Camel Spider, to which I replied "no". He pulled up some information on the internet to show me how enormous they are, picture and all, and went on to tell me how they run up to 30 mph, they scream, burrow into camels' chests to stay cool from the hot desert sun. He was so serious, it was hilarious! I didn't believe it for a second-I mean, wouldn't everyone know about such creatures if they did in fact exist??? If you look at the picture closely enough, you can tell that whoever took the picture held it close up to the lens to make the spider look bigger. They are real, but none of those myths (that he believed) were true. We found an accredible website with all the correct information on them. They are big, but more like six inches, not 4 feet. Needless to say, he was a bit disappointed when I was able to prove him wrong. Poor little fella. Below is the picture he showed me when he was trying to prove their existence.
Being the prankster that I am, I couldn't help but create a few photos of my own. btw, the Milky Way bar was the only thing I had on hand while at work today.

He was looking at the guy's leg in the background and comparing the spider to him. If you look to the right, you can see the other guy's shirt sleeve and part of his hand.

My model's name is Jaylie. Great pose girlfriend!!!

"That candy bar is freakin' huge!"

We were both laughing so hard taking these shots. I almost peed my pants!
Rodney was in denial at first. He just couldn't believe that he had been duped. That's what prompted these photos to begin with. To show him how easy it is to make things look larger than they really are. ha ha, thanks for the laugh, Rod!

Day at the Salon

Well, Maya survived the groomer's visit. Yay! I had this awesome $10 off coupon for any grooming visit at Petsmart, so I took advantage of that today. Those Entertainment Passbooks are awesome; I'm buying one every year from now on. Poor little girl was holding her pee since this morning and couldn't wait till we got out of the store. Clean-up on aisle 4!!! But of course, nothing a few paper towels and the "Cuidado, Piso Mojado" sign couldn't fix. She looks sooooo much better now, better than she's ever looked really. Don't be fooled by her cuteness, though, she's a terror. lol

I had the camera zoomed in too far, that's why this picture is a little blurry. Oops!

I just love this picture of her. She looks so innocent and angelic. I know that's not really the case though. She's a mischevious little thing...

After a long afternoon at the groomer's, she deserved a snack.

It's funny how a simple hair-cut can make her look like a puppy again. I mean, she is just 3 pounds, but her scraggly hair-do was making her look older. It's good to be beautiful again, right Maya?!?

Pet Peeves

Today as I was browsing along in Petsmart trying to find a new collar for Maya, I came across these cute stuffed animals I couldn't resist. They're called Pet Peeves; if dogs could talk, these are definitely some things I would be hearing from the both of them. Notice the hand gestures of these little guys, they're so cute! Maya's getting groomed right now, so she hasn't gotten her toy yet, but Chloe loves hers already. New toys are always fun.

"You get in the dog crate!"
I picked this one out for Maya because it suits her perfectly. If she had hands and could hold onto the sides of her crate to avoid being put in there, she would do just that. She won't go in there for anything; the crate is not her friend.

"It's the same food everyday!"
Yes, sorry Chloe, but it's better for you this way. I made the mistake of giving her "people" food a while back, and I won't go into specifics, but it wasn't pretty. Her tummy must've been hurtin'. So yep, she does get the same food EVERYDAY.

Here's Chloe enjoying her new toy. What a sweetie!!!

Happy Anniversary

Today marks me and Arthur's official 3 year anniversary today. I say official, because I also consider the day of our first date an anniversary, too. I figure the more holidays, the better. For "our" present, Arthur and I took my new car to get the windows tinted. I'd been talking about how I'd wanted that, so that's what we got. Yay!!! A co-worker had told me about a Mexican restaurant that we needed to try, so we did just that. For lunch, we went to Campo Verde, and I have to say, I was taken by suprise at the atmosphere of the place. As you can see in the pictures, it's decorated in Christmas lights all over the place. It's really neat, but it made me and Arthur dizzy at first; it took a good five minutes for my eyes to adjust. But after five minutes, the atmosphere was very pleasant. Rather than the typical tejano music/mariachi bands, this restaurant had oldies playing, the really old oldies, the doo wop she bop kind. I'd definitely recommend the place, just be aware of THE LIGHTS. lol And though Arthur probably won't ever read this, I did want to tell him how much I love him. Thank you sweetie for always being there for me, rubbing my back, giving me pedicures, and washing the dishes. I appreciate everything you do for me, though I don't always let you know. Happy Anniversary, baby!!!

If you look along the top of this picture, you can see
the train going along the tracks. This train goes all
throughout the restaurant.

And this picture gives you a better idea of how crazy
those lights were. Yeah, the pictures I took with
the cell phone, that's why they're so ugly. :)

To Capture a Sunset

No, I didn't get any hail over here this morning, just plenty of rain. It's been a rather gloomy and dark day today, not the kind of weekend I had planned. With my new car, I wanted to do a few things this weekend without the worry of inclement weather. The last thing I want to do now is drive in the rain and track in mud and such. No thanks! But after all the rain and ugliness had passed, beauty appeared. Not only was the sunset oh so pretty, the most amazing rainbow stood silently across from the sunset almost smiling back at it. The pictures I took don't do either the sunset or the magnificent rainbow justice. Unfortunately, I was not able to fit this rainbow into the same shot; I had to take two pictures to capture the whole thing (actually, I still don't think I got it all). I just thought I'd go ahead and share this with you guys.

Here are two pictures I took of the rainbow. Like I said,
these photos are super lame compared to the real deal.
This is "phase 2" of the sunset.
"Phase 3"- the last picture I took before those brilliant
colors faded into the darkness

Happy Leprechaun Day!

Since tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day, I thought I'd do something special and fun. While I was at work yesterday, I took some photos of my co-workers for my little "project". If they didn't know what I was up to yesterday, they'll know soon enough.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentine's Day to
all of you! Today won't be
anymore special than any
other day, for me anyways.
Arthur and I don't want to
wait an hour or two to eat
tonight, so we've decided
to have our Valentine's
celebration over the weekend
instead. So Happy Un-Valentines
Day to me. I hope everyone gets plenty of candy
and love today. You all deserve it. Love you guys!

What does your candy heart say?

Your Candy Heart Says "Get Real"
You're a bit of a cynic when it comes to love. You don't lose your head, and hardly anyone penetrates your heart.
Your ideal Valentine's Day date: is all about the person you're seeing (with no mentions of v-day!)
Your flirting style: honest and even slightly sarcastic
What turns you off: romantic expectations and "greeting card" holidays
Why you're hot: you don't just play hard to get - you are hard to get

This made me laugh. Holly, you and I are very different. But I have to admit, this little candy heart isn't that far from the truth, but I don't agree entirely. Should I?

My new Volkswagen Passat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today Arthur and I went out car shopping, and I actually
thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun looking at the cars,
test driving them, knowing I was more than likely going
to find "the one" today. Well, it did happen; I drove back
home in my "new" 2004 VW Passat (fully loaded) late
this afternoon. I LOVE it! Not only do I think it's
gorgeous, but it runs like a dream. Hopefully, this car
will be reliable and not have any problems. It seems
a lot of people are having car problems lately, and I sure
hope I don't have to endure any of that in the near future.
Here are some photos I took of my new ride.

These last two pics are a little blurry, but the
colors are really pretty...

Sweet Bunny Kisses

I just thought these pictures were really cute and thought I'd share. We all love this little bunny, except for Chloe. Maya adores the newcomer, and what's funny is that Bambi seems to enjoy Maya as well. Maya also loves to kiss Bambi, Chloe wants to eat her, hence there are no photos of Chloe with the bunny. That would be utterly disastrous!
And by the way, I'm getting my car on Wednesday, and my injury settlement has yet to be determined, possibly this Monday. In case you guys wanted to know. I'll keep y'all updated.

Ignore that montronsity of a foot there along the bottom

Not the best picture of me, but it's a darling one of Bambi

My new car...maybe

Okay, not really my new car, but this is the car I'm probably going to get. A 2004 Volkswagen Passat GLS. It's got some potential. I love it! We'll see how it goes. And I'm not too sure when I'll get a car, sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Bambi

I've now become a foster parent to a little bunny named Bambi. You see, there happen to be rabbits galore over at my work. One day there was one black and white rabbit, which my co-worker took home, and then a couple weeks later there were a few more. They just keep coming, and what's weird is that they're not "wild" rabbits. They all are black and white and don't seem afraid of people. You can literally walk right up to them; in the mornings they gather at the door to be fed now. So cute!!! Well, anyhow, there are now little babies, and slowly the number of babies are starting to dwindle. There were six, now there are only three. There's been a hawk nearby and we're assuming that he's been taking the little ones, so we're rounding up the little ones and are finding homes for them. So, for now, I've got a little bunny which I may keep, we'll see. Arthur says no more pets, but I'm sure I can change his mind. She is just the cutest little thing and absolutely beautiful, as you can see from the pictures.

NY Giants win Super Bown XLII

I am happy to announce that the NY Giants have won the Super Bowl. Though my car is in pieces, I'm am truly ecstatic at this moment(though this feeling may be short-lived). I just love those Manning boys; I think it's great that Peyton's little brother gets to celebrate his victory tonight. Way to go, Giants! What a game!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

As you can see, my little Ford Escort is no more. Yesterday evening as I was driving home from my sister's, I was involved in an accident. Someone didn't have their furniture secured in the back of their truck, and their sofa took off into flying in front of the vehicle in front of me. I was on I75 at that time going 65 mph, the Navigator in front of me slammed on his brakes, I slammed on mine; there was no chance of avoiding his SUV, I hit full force into him. The truck behind me then slammed into me as well as did the car behind him...yada yada yada. It turned into a five car pileup, yet mine was the only one vehicled that was completely totalled. I'm gonna miss my little Escort. What's weird is that on my drive up, I was thinking about how good this car has been to me; everytime I drive though Dallas, I'm always wondering if I'll be in an accident. Well, yesterday was the day. So long my friend, auf wierdersehen!

FYI, the police officers placed my front bumper there into the back window. No, it didn't magically land there.

The windshield stayed in one piece; it was cracked
but still holding together. And if you look closely,
you can see how the radio flew out on impact, it's
still holding on by it's wires.
