Thanks, Holly, for this idea. I had seen it in the layout, but really didn't know what it was all about. Now I do, so thanks for that! For anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, I added a new widget to the sidebar to be able to track my loyal followers. So if you like to check my blog regularly, please click on the link that says to Follow. The more, the merrier. Even if you never comment on my blog, I would love it if you followed me. :)

It's a girl
Today I got another little foster baby to care for. She's six weeks old and beautiful as can be. Her little green ares are so mesmerizing, as are her little expressions. She makes the cutest faces! I have yet to decide on a name. So maybe you can help me make my decision. I've posted a poll on the sidebar of some names that I'm considering. If you have a name that you think fits and it's not on my list, you're welcome to share. The more the merrier. :)
She seems to enjoy being in front of a camera, if you ask me.
I love this face, she makes it often. "What the heck!!!"
"Hmmm, what's that moving over there?"
I posted this picture to show how little she is. To me, she looks more petite than the other kittens I've had at six weeks of age. I'll have to start feeding him more to fatten up that little belly of hers. She sure would be a cute fat little kitty!

It's Potty Time!
Yesterday I drove into Dallas, where I finally picked up Howie and Tucker. It was so exciting to see them again, I wasn't sure how they'd react. It's almost as if they remembered all of us, though. The reunion was so sweet; I was nervous about how the dogs and the two cats would react to one another. Maya's little tail just wouldn't stop wagging and the cats kept rubbing up against Maya and Chloe. Seeing as Chloe has always just kept her distance (she merely just puts up with the others), I was most concerned about her. She was such a good girl and didn't seem bothered to have them here again. It couldn't have worked out any better and I'm so happy to have the boys back. Ever since watching the movie, Meet the Parents, I've always thought it'd be cool to have a cat use the toilet. I mean, the litter box can really get stinky. Who needs that!?! So, I am going to try and toilet train Tuck and Howie; I couldn't do this with kittens as they could fall in, but now that they're grown I'm all for it. It'll take some time, maybe a month or so, but I think it'll be interesting to try this out. Wish me luck!
It's the first day of Fall...
It's official, whoopeee!!! It's still a little too hot where I live, but at least the cooler air will soon be on it's way. Yay! I'm not much of a summer person, so today is a good day. I love the cool, crisp air of fall, the changing colors of the trees, everything about being outside in the fall is just wonderful really.
Here's a picture of some cupcakes I thought were cute. I don't have any kids, but if I did I'd probably decorate cupcakes to celebrate Fall-Day!
Or maybe these delightful cuppiecakes? Martha Stewart really does have some cute decorating ideas (not too many for fall, though). I know this post is a slightly boring one, but I'm here at work now and it's really slow. I have nothing else to do now to occupy my time. So there!

Darn my Kindness!
I just received an e-mail from the rescue organization I work with in McKinney and apparently there are several kittens there that they really wanted pulled from the shelter and given a chance. I couldn't help but volunteer to take another litter of two. I have been missing so much having foster kittens in the apartment but do remember the toll it took on me driving back and forth. I guess more than anything, I feel its the least I can do for them. So many cats are put down every day, and if there's something I can do to help lessen those numbers, by golly, I'll do what I can. I've just got to remember, I'm helping to save lives even if it is just two kittens at a time. :)
So here we go again...if I do end up fostering this set of two (along with Howie and Tucker), I'll be posting pictures of them soon.
***Update: The two kittens I was to foster are being adopted by a shelter employee. :( Guess it is just going to be Howie and Tucker afterall for the time being.

I just wanted to give a little shout out to my BFF, Nicole. Happy Birthday you old fart!!! lol, just kidding, you're not old. Thanks for putting up with me and my crazy antics for all these years. I couldn't have asked for a better friend, you really are the best. I hope you have a great birthday today; if your friends don't shower you with love and many gifts, I WILL drive up there and punch them in their mouths. Don't underestimate me, Nicole. ;) I love you!!!

My foster babies-all grown up!
Since I regularly check Petfinder, I noticed this morning that my first two foster kitties had been returned by their owner due to "life's changes". I was so sad and disappointed, mainly because of this woman who had returned them. Would you surrender your own children due to "life's changes"? C'mon! People need to realize that adopting a cat, dog, or any animal for that matter is a lifetime commitment, not something to take lightly. I've been guilty of this in the past, and I'm so glad that I've had the opportunity to foster these kittens as this experience has taught me a few things. So naturally, I contacted the rescue organization and asked about them and whether or not they had adequate space to take them in. Since they were my bottle-babies, I wanted the chance the take them back in until someone else could give them a forever home. Of course, they were more than helpful and grateful that I volunteered to take them back in for the time being. While I thought my fostering was over with for the year, I'll be getting my little babies back (temporarily anyhow). Who knows how long it may take for someone to want to adopt the two of them, hopefully not long. Here are pictures of them when they were smaller and pictures of them now. They're so big! Awwww

Happy Birthday Aubrey!
My little niece, Aubrey turns 7 today! :( She's growing way too fast; I still remember when she was a wee little baby. Aubrey has such a sweet spirit and everyone who knows her absolutely loves her. What's not to love?!? Congratulations Aubrey for all of your accomplishments, both big and small. You've done so well in school and I can't believe you're already a first grader! You're teacher is so lucky to have you in her classroom. I love, Aub, and again, Happy Birthday!!!

My Bath-time Beauties
Yesterday we gave the girls a much need bath. They were looking a bit ratty! Here's both of their before and afters. :)
She loves being wrapped up in her towel after a bath. One time I had to bathe her outside, she got loose and ran around the backyard covered in soap suds. The only way I was able to catch her was to hold out the towel, then she came running back as fast as she could. She's a silly ole' gal!
"Did you just say 'cheese'?"
My angel!...the other one is in the background.
She was starting to give me the stink eye, so this was one of the last pictures I took of her. Maybe she didn't like the flash, who knows.
hee hee
Though this shot didn't get her whole face, I really liked the picture. She almost looks fake to me.
She was actually whining when I took this picture. She didn't like that Chloe was taking a bath, I think she felt sad for her. Bath time is not their favorite!

More pictures
I didn't have time to take any good pictures of my butterfly yesterday morning. I was in too much of a hurry to get to work. Today I actually awoke to find a new butterfly in the habitat. Before I left for work, I had two more; now I'm waiting for just one more butterfly to emerge. This morning I sat in front of the mesh habitat and stared for a few minutes waiting for one to make its way out, but then I had to use the little girl's room. I was gone for no more than two minutes and when I came back, the little booger was out of his cocoon. Dang it! I wonder if I'll get to watch the last one. Probably not...
These were four of my little worms yesterday. For some reason, they wouldn't stop shaking for like an hour. Geez, calm down already!!!

My First Butterfly!
Finally, one of my butterflies has emerged! Yay! As I got out of bed this morning, I looked into the little habitat, as I have been every morning for the past couple of days, to find one of the little buggers wiggling its way out of its cocoon. I immediately snapped a couple of shots with my camera (through the plastic covering on top, hence the blurry picture), then decided to unzip the top to get a better shot, maybe even some video. But as luck would have it, the little butterfly was just finishing up and already walking around by the time I got my stuff together. So my picture of her (I decided this one's gender is female, for no other reason than the fact that I say it is) is not the clearest, sorry. But I did get a couple of better shots of the butterfly afterwards.
I think I'll name her Bella. hee hee Get it? Her wings are still a little folded over and not quite dry. Within minutes, her wings had dried completely and flattened, but I didn't get pictures of that. I'll take more pictures after the others make their debut.
"I see you!"
By the way, this is my 100th post! Yay me!!!

Caterpillars to Chrysalides
As you all know, I received this Live Butterfly Garden as a birthday gift from my sister a couple of weeks ago. I was going to wait until they were butterflies before I posted this, but I decided I'd just save that picture for later. Right now, I'm just waiting for the butterflies to emerge, hopefully in the next couple of days they'll be here. Yay!
Here are my little ugly caterpillars hanging upside down waiting for their little furry parts to change.
Here you can see that most of them have changed into their chrysalide form, all but one that is. At first I thought one of the little worms had died, but alas, it was still alive. The last one was a couple of days behind his sibs. :( lol
Now they've all changed!
And here they are now; I've moved them into their little butterfly habitat. When they emerge, this is where they will live for several days until I release them. More butterfly pictures to follow...

Holly Turns 28!
This past holiday weekend was my sister's birthday, as I mentioned in the previous post. I had a blast celebrating it with her and the family. While Joey was outside cooking the steaks (which were wonderful, btw, thanks Joey), I was busy trying to decide how to decorate the cake. It was Aubrey's idea to use her Polly Pocket dolls on the cake somehow, but I wasn't sure as to how I would get them on the cake to where they wouldn't fall over. I did my best to make it work and gave them all skirts made out of crumbled cake and icing and then covered those skirts with a layer of icing. It wasn't easy, but I had to follow through with it since Aubrey and Ella were so excited with the idea of having the dolls on the cake.
Thanks again, Holly and Joey, for having me over this weekend so that I could partay with y'all. It was a lot of fun, I'll see you guys soon.
The cake! Aubrey helped with the oh so special sprinkles placement. I don't know if you can tell or not, but Joey was able to stick a couple of the candles into the dolls hands using some icing. :)
The birthday girl!!!
Cali enjoyed the little party blowers. She was just laughing and laughing everytime Aubrey and Ella would blow on them. Isn't that smile just contagious!?!
Here's a video while we're were at the table eating our cake and ice cream. I thought it was just too cute not to post. Enjoy!
